This is a big guy with a big fish. Hey wait, this is Guy with his beautiful Dorado. Ned Ludlow had fished in Puerto Vallarta last year and felt that the charter was nothing more than a boat ride, so this year he decided to make it an overnighter at El Banco on the High Maintainence. The first day showed lots of action, we had two good Marlin strikes and lost a Sail. The Dorado were plentiful as well as the Yellowfin Tuna. That night we started 'Chunking', probably one of the most spectacular ways to fish. 'Chunking' is tossing chunks of bait to make a trail of chum and shining lights into the water to attract just about every species. The fish come to you and this is amazing sport. We managed to land 16 Spanish Mackeral during the night and at dawn Ned was helping out and bringing in the lines so we could get moving for the day and miraculously hooked a 40 pound Wahoo.

AND, without a steel leader this is nearly impossible. Amazed, Ned had to fight the fish all around the boat, we were still at anchor and this was no easy task. What a way to start the day Ned. These boys were anxious to spend time diving into the ocean, it sounded like a good idea to Phil as well but Captain Steve saw a couple of fins cruising around the area and suggested that we should do the bucket brigade until we were within the Bay. Fishing was brisk but the big guys were not interested in our bait, lots of strikes but no cigars. Ned assured Phil that he would be back for his Marlin next season and Guy was going to be with him. Phil wants to thank Captain Steve for his excellence all around and for Tonya's help to make this charter a success for Ned and his party.
